The Pukchang Thermal Power Complex is boosting production by conducting a brisk drive for technical development.
In close cooperation with Kim Chaek University of Technology and other relevant scientific research institutes, the complex has completed a technique of saving coal in boilers through automatic control of combustion and introduced it into production.
This advanced technique that makes it possible to increase productivity remarkably while saving over 4 000 tons of coal in each boiler on a monthly average has been introduced into several boilers this year.
Meanwhile, the complex has successfully finished remodelling Boiler No 3.
As a result, the daily power generation has increased by over 20 per cent as against the previous period, and the electricity autoconsumption system the complex adopted helps it save much electricity.
The complex also succeeded in recycling shafts by applying advanced welding technique in close contact with a relevant unit, which helps it save the cost a lot and ensure normal operation of generators.
Besides, it pushed ahead with the technical innovation projects in a planned way, including the establishment of the steam management system.
