A man must become a patriot before becoming a scientist. This is the motto of Professor Kim Mun Chol, PhD and director of the Microbiology Institute of the State Academy of Sciences.
In recent years, he has played a pivotal role in boosting the activity of cellulase, proteolytic enzyme, diastatic enzyme and liquefying amylase.
Kim, a winner of the February 16 Science and Technology Prize, has also successfully solved sci-tech problems arising in producing enzyme in an industrial method, and greatly helped the institute establish the enzyme research and product development processes.
He was nominated as one of the top national scientists and technicians of 2023.
