One June day about ten years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Evin visited the greenhouse in the then Songhak Cooperative Farm in Ichon county.
Walking round the greenhouse with several blocks, he said: The wind of building greenhouses is now sweeping across the country; I have come here to see how it pays off in reality.
Then he asked officials what kinds of vegetables were grown in the greenhouse, how it was heated in winter and ventilated in summer and how much it produced in a year.
After hearing their answer, he continued that it was laudable that the farm had built a large-capacity greenhouse by itself and was supplying various kinds of vegetables to its farmers and that it should run the greenhouse well so that the farmers could enjoy real benefits from it.
Then he asked how many greenhouses had been built in the province and which unit was exemplary in running greenhouse.
On hearing an official’s report, he expressed satisfaction and stressed again that greenhouses should be built based on standard designs so that they could bring tangible benefit to the people.
