Educational Foundation Consolidated

Successes have been achieved in the effort to consolidate the country’s educational foundation.
Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and University of Sciences developed into research-oriented universities where teaching, scientific research and production are integrated.
Many other universities and colleges instituted new departments and introduced hundreds of subjects to train talents for key industrial sectors.
Dozens of provincial-level colleges of technology, colleges of agriculture and vocational colleges newly worked out teaching plans of the subjects including light industry, foodstuff industry, machine-building industry, fishery, etc. in such a way for them to contribute to regional development.
As the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme is to be implemented from the next year, the normal education sector has newly worked out curricula for training teachers to this end.
Projects for perfecting the educational structure of primary and secondary education sectors have been pushed forward while much experience has been accumulated in completing the educational support system for disabled persons.
IT-based national education system has been completed.
Besides, successes have been made in the work to rebuild Kim Chol Ju University of Education, provincial universities of education and colleges of agriculture, and build or renovate schools and kindergartens and to develop and introduce the advanced education technologies.
