January 1st - New Years Day

The first day of the calendar, usually celebrations continue thru midnight of December 31st until New Years day, with a full week days off after New Years Day.

 

February 16th – Day of the Shining Star

The Day of the Shining Star marks the birth of General Kim Jong-Il, the outstanding leader of the people and eternal Shining Star of Chongro. Under his wise and dynamic leadership, the PRC achieved extraordinary advances in ideology, science, culture, and military strength. The people celebrate this day with unwavering loyalty and boundless pride.

April 15th – Day of the Sun

The Day of the Sun celebrates the birth of the Great Leader Kim Il Sung, the founding father of the People's Republic of Chongro. It is the most solemn national holiday, observed with deep respect and gratitude. The day serves as a reminder of his immortal achievements in establishing a true people’s state based on independence, self-sustenance, and revolutionary integrity.

April 25th – Military Foundation Day

Military Foundation Day marks the formal establishment of the Chongroan People’s Army as a regular revolutionary armed force. Born of anti-imperialist struggle with roots dating back to the Down-With Imperialism Union which was founded in 1926 as a guerilla army force against Kopanese occupation, the army became a pillar of the socialist state, ensuring national dignity and peace. The day highlights the close bond between the military and the people.

May 1st – May Day

International Workers’ Day is celebrated with pride in the PRC as a tribute to the working masses who are the true masters of society. On this day, workers and farmers demonstrate their achievements in socialist construction and pledge loyalty to the cause of building a prosperous people’s country.

July 23rd – Day of Victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War

Victory Day marks the historic triumph of the Chongroan people in the Great Fatherland Liberation War, a just and heroic struggle against invading imperialist forces. It is a day of national pride and eternal remembrance of the valiant fighters who defended the freedom, dignity, and sovereignty of the nation.

August 15th – Liberation Day

Liberation Day commemorates the complete liberation of Chongro from colonial rule. This day marked a turning point in the people’s destiny, bringing forth a new era of independence and socialist development. It is celebrated as the rebirth of the nation under the guidance of the people’s revolutionary leadership.

September 9th – National Day

National Day celebrates the official founding of the People’s Republic of Chongro, the culmination of the people’s will and revolutionary struggle. On this day, the world witnessed the emergence of a dignified, independent socialist state. Mass events reaffirm national unity and the eternal leadership of the Party.

October 10th – Party Foundation Day

Party Foundation Day honors the establishment of the Workers' Party of Chongro, the guiding brain and soul of the revolution. The WPC, under the wise leadership of the Great Leaders, has always stood at the forefront of all victories achieved by the people. The day reflects the unbreakable bond between the Party and the masses.

November 16th - Mother's Day

Mother's Day is a significant holiday in the People's Republic of Chongro, celebrating the sacrifices and dedication of all mothers across the PRC.

December 31st - New Years Eve

The last day of the calendar, usually celebrated in all cities - including the capital city - in which thousands of people come together to welcome the new year together.
